The agave nectar is a natural sweetener produced from the salmiana agave plant cultivated in Mexico. The nectar has an amber honey-like color, a low glycemic index and a sweet neutral flavor. It is sweeter than sugar, 150gr of nectar are equivalent to 200 gr of sugar. It may be use in desserts as a substitute of sugar, as sweetener in yogurts, cream cheese and in hot or cold beverages (it dissolves easily in cold liquids).
